It’s Movember: the month men grow their mustaches as they raise awareness for prostate cancer. The movement began in 2003, inspired by breast cancer awareness efforts, and has grown into a worldwide phenomenon, sprouting ‘staches across all seven continents and raising $42 million last year.
For inspiration, I recommend the “Hair India: A Guide to the Bizarre Beards and Magnificent Moustaches of Hindustan,” a photography book that celebrates the fine art of pogonology, or the study of facial hair. Or browse through the gallery of mustaches at the American Mustache Institute.
